I just wrote this a couple of days ago. Popped into my head.

My mind is the disease
Telling me all these things
Things I'm destined to be
Will someone tell me
What's this prisoner to do
To break her chains free
I want to be free

My heart's wearing blinders
Blinded by the pain
Blinded so I can't see
Can't see past the negativity
Tortured soul
Won't you just let me be
Cause all I want
Is to be free



This is short and depressing, so next time I'll try to write something happier, something about bunnies and flowers and sunshine

Maybe it's just me
But it's hard not to see
The world so cynically
We can't love and just disagree
It's right or nothing at all
That ain't how the world should be
With a little more love
An open mind breeds possibilities
But we're all failing miserably
Try to escape from the hate
For who declared this my fate?
Let me set the record straight
All I mean is
There's a universal language
With which we can all relate
The message is simple
But don't follow it blindly
Cause sometimes what feels right
Can be the wrong thing
But loving isn't necessarily agreeing


1. Usually what I write doesn't rhyme, but lately they kind of have. I dunno why; it just comes out.
2. No, I don't really have a style. I don't know really anything about poetry. I just write what's in my head, so there's no use in telling me it's wrong. Just saying.
3. Why are you reading this anyway?
