Welcome to the OFFICIAL SECRET SANTA 2009 THREAD! Since 2007's Secret Santa was such a success, I think its time to do it all over again! 3 Cheers for Sabrina, who came up with the idea..

If you are interested in participating, please read the conditions of entry carefully first

This is how it works:

You send me some information, by the deadline of November 15th, 2009

I will take all of the names and randomly match them up - the person that you are buying for will most likely not be the person purchasing the gift that you will receive.

An e-mail will be sent out to each person who has signed up that will pass along the information of the person you will be buying a gift for. (This e-mail will be sent no later than November 20th, 2009)

You will then purchase a gift for your buddy, mail/post it, and then send an e-mail to me confirming that you have done so. This will need to be done by December 1st, 2009 to ensure that with longer postage times during the holiday season, your gift will arrive before, or right around December 25th. This will also save on last minute postage costs, as you can choose a lower priced option, knowing it has nearly a month to reach it's destination.

The price of gifts:

$20 USD is the general spending amount (if you need to translate this into your local currency please use www.xe.com)
If you wish to go above and beyond and spend more, feel free. This price is just to ensure that most of the board can afford to participate.

If you cannot afford the set price:

This does not automatically exclude you. Please contact me and let me know what you can afford. Even if you can't afford ANYTHING. Do NOT be shy, we are a family and everyone should be a part of this, regardless of their current financial situations.

If you are willing to buy for more than one person:

There may be a few people on the board who are going through tough times, if this is the case, let me know if you are willing and able to take on more than one buddy. Let me know how many buddies you are willing and able to take on.

Your first step is to send me an e-mail by the deadline of November 10th, 2009 to: MJIFCSecretSanta2009@gmail.com

The information you will need to send is:

Your name on the board.

Real Name

Full Mailing Address

Contact Telephone Number (This will probably never be used)

An e-mail address you can be easily contacted at

A secondary e-mail address (if available)

Your likes, interests, wishes etc. Things that will help somebody to get a good idea of what you may be interested in.

Would you be willing to send a gift internationally? (Yes, No, I would prefer not to, but will if it's needed)

Are you able to take on any additional buddies?

Remember, the point of this is that your identities be a SECRET until the person receives the package, and this is supposed to be FUN! If anyone has problems, they go through me. Try to never contact your buddy directly. That would ruin the fun of the game!

For example, if you can't think of anything to get your buddy, let me know and I will hound them until we get some more ideas.
